18/04 :  Sun-A International Academy

   Late last term, I was contacted by a lovely lady called Oe-Sensei from Sun-A International Academy in Tokyo. She was visiting Perth for a few days and asked to meet with me and talk about her academy. Oe-Sensei is a wonderful lady who believes strongly in multiculturalism and sharing of cultures and language, hence the realisation of the Sun-A International Academy. During our meeting we discussed how Japanese Language teachers could benefit from visiting the academy in Tokyo and so I have summarised the opportunities available for teachers and students visiting Tokyo:

1. FREE - students & teachers in Tokyo are welcome to visit the Sun-A International Academy for a 1/2 day where they can engage in cultural activities (calligraphy, yukata wearing, dance etc) with students and staff at the academy;
2. Fee paying - If you are taking students to Tokyo and are looking for somewhere to stay, the academy also has dormitories available. Depending on the cost, languae lessons can also be included and the academy is located in the middle of Tokyo, close to transport and shops;
3. Fee paying - As the academy is for students who have graduated high school, if you have any former or Year 12 students planning to visit Japan, the academy offers a variety of language courses (different lengths, levels etc) for international students. The academy is recognised by several Ministries and can also take care of visa requirements for long term visitors.
3. Fee Paying - Any teachers who would like to brush up on their Japanese are also welcome to enrol in a short course whilst in Tokyo.

If you would like more information, please contact Oe Sensei at [email] directly.
